It began when I was just 8 years old. I was told that I have sickle cell anaemia. While others my age were running, playing, and dreaming about their future, I was learning how to live with constant bone pain, hospital visits, and blood transfusions.
Today, my condition has worsened. I am suffering not only from sickle cell anaemia but also AVN (Avascular necrosis) in both my shoulders and hips. There are days when even the smallest movement feels unbearable… when my own body feels like it’s working against me.
Doctors have told me that a bone marrow transplant is my only chance at a normal, healthy life and it is urgent.
At 27, I should be building my life, chasing dreams, and working towards a future. Instead, I am unemployed, dependent on my family, and fighting to get through each day.
My father’s pension is the only support for our family of three. We have already spent more than ₹10 lakhs on my treatment… but it’s still not enough. My transplant and further treatment demands lakhs more.
I dream of waking up one day without pain, of living freely and finally having a healthy body.
