My little Lavishka is just 5 years old and full of talent and an imaginative mind.
She loves to dance. Every time music plays, she smiles and moves with joy. But as her father, there is a pain I carry every single day….she cannot hear the music she dances to.
As months passed, we noticed something was wrong.
Lavishka wouldn’t respond when we called her name. She couldn’t react to loud sounds like other children.
After several tests, doctors confirmed it. Lavishka has severe to profound hearing loss in both ears.
At an age where children start speaking, learning, and going to school, my daughter struggles to even hear basic sounds. She tries to communicate with gestures, but I know she longs to speak, to express, to simply say “Papa.”
Doctors have given us hope. A cochlear implant surgery, along with speech therapy, can help her hear and speak. But it costs us lakhs, an amount far beyond reach.
I am the only earning member, running a small business. We have already spent ₹2.5 lakhs on tests and treatments. We have exhausted our savings and borrowed from others. Today, I stand helpless.
Doctors have warned us that early treatment is critical. Any delay can reduce her chances of ever hearing or speaking normally.
