Gaurav Rai was 22 years old, fresh out of his B.Com degree and just stepping into his MBA. The kind of young man who had a plan, a direction, and a whole life ahead of him.

On the evening of December 18, 2025, Gaurav was on his way home with a friend. They were on a bike, doing nothing out of the ordinary, when a four-wheeler came from the opposite direction and hit them head-on. There were no CCTV cameras nearby. Just two young men, a dark road, and a collision that changed everything.

Gaurav suffered serious injuries to his brain, hands, and legs. He was rushed to Shri Krishna Hospital where doctors performed emergency brain surgery to save his life. Rods were placed in his hands and legs to stabilise the fractures. He survived, but the road ahead is far from over. Gaurav now needs a Right Side Titanium Mesh Cranioplasty, a surgery to repair the damaged portion of his skull, along with treatment for Myositis Ossificans, a condition where abnormal bone tissue forms in the muscles following trauma.

His father drives for a living, earning around Rs 500 a day. His mother manages the home. His younger brother, 18, is studying B Pharma and in no position to contribute. There are no savings, no backup, and the bills from the emergency treatment alone have already pushed the family to their limit. Gaurav is currently in the ward at Shri Krishna Hospital, stable but waiting. Waiting for a surgery his family cannot afford on their own.

He had just started building his life. He deserves the chance to continue.
Your support can help Gaurav get back on his feet.

Alternatively, it allows you to donate to a cause you support or , choose from a host of vetted causes here on Impact Guru.
Crowdfunding is the practice of raising money for a social cause or project or venture by collecting small contributions from a large number of people, typically via the Internet.
Crowdfunding helps anyone create an online fundraiser for his/her needs and seek help from people across the globe.
Click here to learn how it works.
You need not wait for donor or have the organ ready. We actually suggest you start a fundraiser as soon as you can so that you are ready with the acquired funds and can get the surgery done immediately when you do receive an organ.
Generally, most campaigners are reminded to leave updates on their fundraiser regarding the progress of their cause, whether it’s a nonprofit project or the health of a patient. You will get an email every time an update is posted. Alternately, you can use the "Contact campaigner" option on the fundraiser page to directly get in touch with the campaigner and understand how your donation benefited them.
Once the requirement of this patient will be met, any remaining funds will ultimately go towards helping other needy patients in line with Impact Guru's mission of helping save as many lives as possible.
For all medical fundraisers, the funds will be directly transferred to the hospital’s account. Only in a few cases, based on Impact Guru’s discretion, the funds might be transferred to the campaigner or the patient’s account for postoperative or at home expenses.
In cases, where the funding requirement of the patient changes due to factors such as death, change of treatment plan on advice of hospital, delay in treatment, medical complications, Impact Guru utilizes the funds to help similar patients with the mission of helping save as many lives as possible.
90%+ of Impact Guru’s campaigns raise funds leveraging our do-it-yourself fundraising platform.
The Accelerate initiative of Impact Guru caters primarily towards those individuals who are unable to create or manage their own fundraiser due to lack of education, access to smartphones, or social networks for fundraising support. Impact Guru provides fundraising support in such cases by maximizing outreach, leveraging all fundraising channels. In order to provide crucial life saving support to such patients, Impact Guru charges marketing cost paid to such third parties and its regular platform and payment gateway fees. Impact Guru's constant endeavour is to reduce such outreach costs to maximize social impact of every contribution.
