“I only want my daughter to see the world… but today, she sees only darkness.”
3-year-old Somya was supposed to be running around, playing with other children, and getting ready for school.
Instead, she is fighting Bilateral Retinoblastoma (eye cancer).

6 months ago, Somya’s parents noticed something was wrong with her eyes- it had a white shadow. Soon, their biggest fear came true — cancer was affecting their little girl’s vision.
“When I ask her to go play with other kids, she tells me… ‘How will I play, Mumma? I can’t see properly.’” says her mother, Suhani, with tears in her eyes.
She adds, “She keeps saying everything is black… She is too young to understand today, but when she grows up, what will I tell her?”

Somya has already completed 3 chemotherapy sessions, but 10 more sessions are urgently needed to stop the cancer from progressing.
Since starting chemo, Somya has become extremely weak.
“She doesn’t move on her own anymore. We hold her hand and take her everywhere. She has even stopped eating food. We have to hold both her hands just to feed her,” her father says.

Her parents are fighting a battle beyond treatment costs. Her father is the only earning member, working as a housekeeper and earning just ₹400/day.
“We don’t even have money to travel back home. We only think about saving our child, nothing else,” cries the father.
The family has already spent around ₹40,000 on her treatment. Today, they are struggling even for basic needs — living on bhakri & chutney, and trying to somehow continue Somya’s care.

“We told the doctor… take our eyes and give them to her,” says her emotional father Sonu.
Doctors have estimated several lakhs for Somya’s continued chemotherapy and supportive care.
A little girl who dreams of going to school, playing with friends, and seeing the world again is running out of time.
Somya’s cancer won’t wait. Your support today can help protect her vision and give her a chance at the childhood she deserves.
