We were preparing for the happiest chapter of our lives, looking forward to being parents together. My wife, Sujata was 7 months pregnant, and every day we dreamed about holding our baby for the first time.
But on the evening of 3rd April… our world changed forever.
Without any warning, Sujata collapsed. Seeing Sujata in an unresponsive state broke me in ways I cannot describe.
Within moments, we were rushing to the hospital, terrified and confused. Doctors told me my wife had “Intracranial brain bleeding”, as she suffered a massive brain hemorrhage.
Everything happened so fast. She was taken for emergency brain surgery. I stood outside the operation theatre, praying for the woman who was carrying our child… my wife whom I cannot imagine life without.
The brain surgery saved her life… but the battle is far from over.
Today, Sujata is fighting right-side paralysis. A part of her scalp had to be removed during surgery, and doctors have told us it urgently needs to be fixed within a month.
She is still on medications, antibiotics, and constant care.
Sujata dreams of going back to the normal life we once had. The joy of everyday life.
I work as a society clerk and am the only earning member in our family. We have already spent ₹15 lakhs, borrowed from relatives, friends, colleagues, and taken loans… but we still need lakhs more.
Every day I watch Sujata fight… and I hold onto hope that she will come back to us, hoping that our family is healthy and safe soon.
