But on his way back to the airport, our lives changed forever on the 23rd of October 2025.
A sudden accident left him with a severe Traumatic Cervical Spinal Cord Injury. Today, my husband lies on a hospital bed, unable to move due to complete paralysis below his chest, unable to breathe on his own, dependent on tracheostomy and machines for every breath he takes. He faces severe weakness in his upper limbs and has no movement in his lower limbs, he even faces episodes of unstable heart rate and blood pressure.
I see him every day as he is trying to fight, even when his body doesn’t respond. His eyes still search for us for me, for our son but I can see the pain, the helplessness.
Our little boy keeps asking, “When will Papa come home?” I don’t have the strength to answer him.
Doctors say he urgently needs Phrenic Nerve Stimulation Surgery (critical for breathing recovery), Sacral Nerve Stimulation, advanced surgeries, long-term ICU care, and rehabilitation to survive and recover. These treatments can give him a chance to breathe independently again and to live a full life.
But we have already exhausted everything. Our savings and insurance are gone. We have borrowed from everyone we could. I had to step away from my job just to be by his side.
Today, we have nothing left except hope. My husband’s treatment costs lakhs of rupees, and your support is the only ray of light I hold onto. As his condition could worsen, I do not want to wait any longer.
I just wish to see my husband regain the strength he once had, to gradually be capable of daily activities, to be independent and lead a life with our family.
